In order to stay in accordance with the current New Jersey COVID-19 State Restrictions, the 2020 Paterson Air Derby Auction will be web based this year. We are doing our best to continue to support those who have supported us throughout the years. In order to maintain the highest level of integrity please thoroughly read the information below.
Local Birds
We are doing our best to enjoy our sport and in the spirit of fair play regarding the age of local birds, all birds that wish to enter the auction must be “Flight Verified.” This will require the electronic submission of a video of the bird, showing the band number and expanded wing. If a video is not possible, pictures, taken by a phone, will be accepted only if the band and wing are visible in one picture. Submission should be sent to auction@patersonhomingclub.com for review by the Paterson Air Derby Race Committee. Once verified the bird will be entered and posted to the auction list.
Bird "Flight Verification" must be submitted by Sunday April 26th @ 9:00 PM.
There is a 5 bird limit per local breeder. Breeder guarantees the opening bid of 90 points on their own birds.
Local birds will have a "Buy It Now" option of 200 points. "Anyone can exercise this option". If the buy it now option is exercised, this bid closes the auction on the bird and the bird is awarded to the successful bidder.
Out Of Area Birds
Once again we have received commitments from very prominent lofts. These are proven breeders of performance greats throughout the country, including right here in our area. So don’t miss out on this opportunity to acquire some of these great birds.
There is a 5 bird limit per OOA breeder.
There will also be a "Buy It Now" option on OOA birds. "Anyone can exercise this option". If the buy it now option is exercised, this bid closes the auction on the bird and the bird is awarded to the successful bidder.
Auction Bands
Auction bands 2351-2400 are available immediately for 125 points and immediate delivery/pick-up.
Auction bands 2300-2350 will be listed for auction, with a "Buy It Now" option of 150 points.
There will also be a "Buy It Now" option on the listed Auction Bands. "Anyone can exercise this option". If the buy it now option is exercised, this bid closes the auction on the band and the band is awarded to the successful bidder.
Bidding Requirements & Submission
All bidders need to preregister via Phone, Text, or Email (preferred) @ auction@patersonhomingclub.com, with First & Last Name, Loft Name, Address, Phone #, Email.
Bids can be submitted via Phone, Text, or Email (preferred) @ auction@patersonhomingclub.com.
Bids shall be submitted with lot number and band number listed. You can submit your maximum bid and we will bid for you, consistent with the bid increment of 10 points. For example, if you submit a maximum bid of 150 points and the bird opens at 100 points and there are no other bidders, you will get the bird for 100 points. If the bird goes for more than 150 the bird will go to the other bidder. If your intention is to "BUY IT NOW" please inform us and the bird will be marked closed and you will be the successful bidder.
"BUY IT NOW" OPTION- If a bidder exercises the buy it now option, the bird is awarded and closed and can be received immediately by the successful bidder. This bird will no longer be available for bids.
"So if you want it now, buy it now"
Bidders will receive confirmation of bid and current status. We aim to update the auction listings daily.
Only pledged entrants to the Paterson Air Derby can bid. The submission of a bid is a pledge. The bidder therefore pledges entry into the Paterson Air Derby race and agree that any bird awarded will be raced in the Paterson Air Derby.
Auction Details
Bid must be submitted in increments of 10 points or better.
Bidding will commence Wednesday April 22nd @ 11:00 AM
The online bidding will conclude Friday May 1st @ 9:00 PM. If there are any birds that have not been auctioned off by this point in time, we will have the live virtual auction that can be accessed by you on the internet via computer or smart phone (details to follow). Bidding on this part will be live, just as if you were attended an auction.

Fellow flyers, we understand that this is not an ideal situation.
